hi guys,

a customer of mine has a Aqualisa aqarian shower (cant tell if its thermostatic or manual) and its leaking, it runs off a combi boiler (Glowworm 30cxi) i priced part up and its £60+ for manual part and £110+ for thermostatic version, they look identicle. whats the difference between them and would 1 perform better than the other?????

the cheaper one looks appealing to me but i just want to make sure its going to work ok with boiler.

Thanks
Rich.

IIRC it's because you get much bigger temperature fluctuations with combis if someone operates an outlet elsewhere, and there is the potential for scalding if the other outlet is a cold tap, as it drops the pressure in the pipework and draws cold away from the shower. A thermostatic would compensate for this by automatically increasing the flow of cold water/reducing the flow of hot.
