Shower waste pipe and concrete floor

a 70's built house should still have a damp proof membrain of some sort, doubt it would be plastic, more likely synthaproof/blackjack, which was painted on before the screed was laid. your screed will be somewhere in the region of 50mm approx.

Hi

thanks for the heads up on the laminate.. one final question i think.. do i still need the 18mm ply if i has a concrete floor that has been leveled??

can i just put the sand and cement mix straight onto the concrete floor, then the shower tray on top??

With having a concrete floor base.. i don't really understand what the 18mm ply adds to the whole thing.. Can you explain?

thanks again

Stu
