Silicon

i've read about silicon being used for various applications. One of which is what I need to use it for, along the joint of edging tiles between the shower base and the wall. Can anyone advise me how you keep the nozzle steady, what angle between the wall and the base and the best way to finish the joint giving a smooth and even finish.
The last time i tried this when I finished the first application from the nozzle, it looked a necklace of pearls.

The easy tidy way.
Put masking tape above & below where you want to have the silicone, squeeze the silcone out, you wont need much, wet your finger & run it along the silcone.
When you have done that pull the masking tape off before the silcone starts to dry.
You will have a luvly straight neat bead of silicone, even the corners look neat. I have always used this method. It will be as good as the masking tape is layed.

Forgot to say... the area must be dry & clean, and use bathroom sealant get a good make, it will last for years then without going mouldy.

if you are tiling ...you can get a rubber seal instead of silicon ,much nicer

if not an relining then you do as said with the masking tape an you can get a cheap silicon form tool that stops the finger wiping an excess on hands

+ no pearl necklaces this way lol
