I have just fitted a valve (see picture) to plumb a new washing machine. Problem is as indicated on pic one of the joints has a really really slow leak.
I tightened it to manufacturer spec (hand tight plus half to full turn), and it leaked. Tightened it more, still leaks. And again, still leaks.
I know the olives inside are very fragile, silly question but do you think I may have damaged it when installing or tightening? Or do you think it needs tightening more?

Dont want to keep turning water off and draining pipes to inspect it, and dont want to tighten it so much it breaks and I flood the place (not for the first time   )

Cheers

Dismantle joint and put 3 or 4 turns of PTFE tape over olive, re-assemble and tighten ,job done!

Wiggi's dead right. ;)
Unless the leak is from the spindle - nowt you can do about that.
