My SIME Friendly boiler will only produce domestic hot water when the central heating is on. I am told it may be a diverter valve problem.

The spindle in the diverter valve does rise and press in the microswitch when a tap is switched on but the water does not really get hot.

Will changing the diaphragm or microswitch cure this or does it mean a new valve. Where is the best source for a new valve?

If the diverter pin operates the microswitch then the diaphragm will be oK.

If the rads get hot instead of the water the the manifold of the diverter may be stuck. Needs replacement or cleaning.

But as with all boiler faults it needs a competent person to diagnose the fault on site to be sure exactly whats wrong.

Your boiler is not very friendly to work on!
