Regarding the cables, it looks to me like many of them will be 50mm below the finished wall surface in which case it's safe to run them there according to the regs.

I know you professional guys would not bother but, I decided to mark out the timbers on the insulation to help with screwing up the plasterboard. It might be useful to some one at some stage.

Yes the timbers are 4x2, the cables have been put through centrally, so with the plasterboard I think it will be ok.

Nice job.
I may have a side extension soon however I have two manholes.
May i ask, In your early photos I,m sure I see a manhole, how did you tackle that and I know its early stages but do you have a plan on finishing the floor with regards to your manhole.
Look forward to seeing more of your project, thanks

We also have two manholes. I took advice from Building Inspector who stated that both covers had to be replaced with the screw down type. Then put down the 100mm insulation and cover with 22mm chipboard flooring (P5, I think). On top of this will go 10mm of insulation fabric and underfloor electric heating mat. Finished with a Laminate flooring. In truth, we wont be able to access the covers from the inside, however it should be noted that there is a third manhole outside of the building which is in line and connected to the others.

I'll keep putting up pics. It's good to go back and see where we started and the progression since.

Good luck with your extension when the time comes.

Ceilings are plaster-boarded. It was not easy holding them in place on the vaulted ceiling, but we got there in the end. The guy who came around to quote for skimming suggested I put more screws in the ceiling, one more between the existing ones, so I will be doing that before moving on.

Getting used to this dot and dab thing now. Just one wall left to do and then finish off the last stud wall.

Looking good, but on you're pitched roof insulation did you not need a vcb or need to tape up the joints?
Also I have to battern out for plaster board and not cut holes in the insulation for lights and cables.
