Size of cavity lintel

Hi

Does the cavity lintel length need to be same length as cast stone head for windows on a new extension? Is there anything else required like weep vents etc?

You need a tray over the stone head with weeps in the next course of bricks. Some decorative heads are only the length of the window, so in that case the lintel is longer.

So for example if my window is 600mm wide can I have a stone head and cavity lintel both at 900mm lenght?
