Hello All

I have a Skoda Octavia 2002 model with just 12,000 mile son the clock from new. I recently noticed I could not engage 1st or 2nd gears unless I really pushed hard on the clutch pedal. upon closer inspection I found the pedal right at the bottom of the floor but could lift it up by hand into its usual position. After that the gear changes were fine. Does anyone know what the problem maybe? many thanks.

Pretty sure it's a hydraulic clutch on those, so first thing is to check the fluid level. May be shared with the brake fluid reservoir, so check the level there.
If that is all ok, then it's either the master cylinder or slave cylinder thats causing problems
