Smeg D1612C Dishwasher

Hi, can anybody please advise?

I have above dishwasher and when it has finished any of its cycles, it beeps to indicate it has finished but upon checking, I find the soap tablet has not been released and it doesn't seem to have heated the water. I have spent ages trying to do a reset by switching on and pressing programme button 4 times in 3 seconds to light 1st and 5th leds but nothing happens.

For the soap dispenser
take the front door panel off and check the wiring to the dispenser

Might be worth checking the element and or thermostat
