Smeg DI612CA9 problem

I've got a Smeg DI612CA9 D/wahser. When I turn it on it pumps down as normal but won't stop pumpimg down even when the door is opened. If I leave it for +hrs it will allow me to start a wash cycle, but again goes into the same 'loop' at the pumpdown point. It also is flashing error code 1 .
Any ideas?
