I have a new Smeg SDCY66-1 model (the base model from a couple of years ago, which we bought off the floor stock for a hefty discount).

It is working fine, but stops late cycle, through the final rinse/drying phase (as far as I can tell). If you turn the dial just one click further, it will resume and finish the cycle.

It is almost like the dial has run out of "spring", like a wind up toy that has run down. Or perhaps customers were fiddling with the dial one too many times (the plastic inside the on-off button is worn as well). Any tips on a fix?
