smeg dishwasher went pop mid cycle

my smeg dishwasher made a loud pop mid cycle, flipping the fuse switch at the mains.The dishwasher is 4 years old.(model dwi612c). Is this a common problem / fault?.Is it worth repairing , or is it a trip down the tip.

you will need a meter to check for earth leakage ie heater/circulation pump ,parts could be expensive ,choice is yours scrap or repair

Check the mains suppressor,follow the mains lead into the machine and remove the panel where it goes into the machine you may find the suppressor blown.
