Smelly Kitchen Drain

Hi Guys

I recently moved houses and have been getting really foul sewage smells coming from the kitchen sink, however only in the morning. I have tried all the usual drain unblockers and checked the mains are blocked either.


Any help will be hugely appreciated.

Have you checked the U bend?

I would start there, get a bucket or washing up bowl under it and carefully take it off.
Give it a really good clean (obviously use another sink(!) and then replace it- then put about 500ml thick scented bleach down the sinkl & leave over night.

In the morning boil a full kettle and pour down the plug hole (im sure energy savers are cringing at me now, sorry).
