smelly sinks

Have recently moved into a flat in a converted house but there are smells coming from the kitchen and bathroom/toilet. Any advice how to resolve?

On a recent similar problem we found an old waste pipe not capped off under the units.

Start with the kitchen sink trap - take it all apart and replace all mucky bits, replace the waste/overflow assembly if necessary. The parts are merely a few quid, and if you replace like for like you won't have to rejig the pipework.

As for toilets - they tend to smell
