I have tried to add smileys on my web based email (google) and Outlook at work by copying and pasting the code from www.mysmiley.net into my email message body but all I get is the code not the smiley. What am I doing wrong?

In outlook they are, Don't know about Google. Is it wrong to just paste the code in as text? How does the email know it is not just text but some sort of link?
