Software/App for design and material quantities?

Hi,
I'm starting a garden office project and wondering if anyone has an recommendations for design software?

I'd like to be able to plot out the dimensions of my garden and create the proposed design, if possible, with the materials that I'll be using (post and beam) so I can work out quantities.

Sketchup is free and online, OK for this kind of thing. Or you can probably download a previous version from somewhere.
