In loft conversion, I have had fitted a wc, basin and bath.

Due to restrictions on the actual venting of the stack, I been told I will have to have a durgo vent internally in a sealed void (not air tight).

I have never used a durgo and not sure what they do, so:

1. Do they need servicing at any time or need any attention once installed.
2. Should I put in an access hatch to get to it.
3. Do they smell, this will after all be a bedroom!.

Help and advice much appreciated.

should be ok once it's installed

you can leave access just incase of any future problems

and no they don't smell the point of them is to stops smells coming from the stack.

Thanks for the reply.

I imagined them to have some sort of rubber diaphragm that would perish at some point, or get stuck open! :?

Mine smells of roses, it's the wife's that would be the problem
