Hello,
Will one https://www.roofingsuperstore.co.uk/product/roofers-40-160mm-pipe-collar-tpe.html of these
Be suitable to create a water tight seal around a 100mm pipe, going through a fibreglass roof? I phoned them up earlier and the chap assured me I wouldn't require anything else.
I also phoned a local roofing firm who said they couldn't do it because they weren't grp specialists and didn't have the correct materials.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Will.

Yes it will but it isn't just a 'slap it on' job. Usually with things like that you embed them into the glass fibre mat- assuming this is a retro fit to an existing roof you need to;
  • Drill the hole through the roof where the pipe is going- ideally you'll avoid rafters
  • Grind the topcoat off to the diameter of the flange plus 50mm
  • (If you're after perfection) rout into the decking by about 5mm so the flange isn't sitting proud
  • Dope the routed (or ground) section with acetone
  • Set your collar in position, mix some resin, apply fibreglass mat and resin to the collar and surrounding ground section, allow to cure
  • Give it a 2nd coat of mat and resin if you want
  • Mix and apply topcoat, make sure you overlap the existing topcoat.

Not sure about fibre glassing to rubber! I wouldn't be doing it. Why not get a lead soil pipe flashing and stick it down with lead seal.

Just noticed it now comes with a flat top rather than ribbed- which won't help the mat/resin bind to it. Think the grp suitable plastic is polyurethane rather than polyethylene....anyhow, cheap and dirty is as catlad-cut your hole, seal the hole edges (resin if you have it, Acrypol or leadmate otherwise), stuff the pipe through, stick the collar down with acrypol (plastic) or leadmate (lead).

You can get a ready made GRP collar for waste pipes from Polyroof, it supplies GRP roofing products.
I did a GRP roofing course with them years ago.
The collar is easily fitted, just prepare the hole through the roof as you have described above and drop the collar over the pipe, you then glass the collar to the roof.

The upstand can be formed around the pipe simply enough . Then weathering collar, and mushroom oraor cage normal. Nothing needs to bond to the pipe
