I want to move a toilet back by 1m or s.

Can i dig down to find the clay pipe, convert it to plastic and then run that to the new toilet position?

do they need to know if im only moving it a metre?

I was thinking to dig down around the current upstand to the WC to see how far it goes to an elbow. Then work out the fall from the new location to the elbow to see if it is within 1:60. If so, use a purpose made flexi coupling from by marley to convert clay to plastic. Extend in plastic to create a sub-stack with rodding capability as there is no chamber. The new wC would then branch into this along with the basin waste.

If the fall is not sufficient, I would dig back further, in order to create it.

The floor on which the wC is currently on, is about 8" higher then the floor outside where the main house stack is. I have dug previously around this to expose the connection from cast iron to clay as I was planning of changing it all to plastic. The joint is about 6" below the outside floor.

Go for it . It`s just there is a certain poster who always says get Build Control involved . Me, I hate all the paperwork . Just doing my own drains as it happens . it`s all *ahem* maintenance as far as I`m concerned . Pay enough Council Tax as it is.

I know what you mean

Dependant on the weather, I will need to start digging and knocking a wall out as im extending it slightly.

also need to relocate a main water pipe
