depends on how much you want to heat the pipe.
remove the pushfit if to close or wrap a wet cloth round the pushfit and copper pipe.

becareful any flux in contact with pushfit fittings will cause leaks.
I recently did a job for a very big restaurant where someone had used flux close to pushfit fittings or had not wipes copper pipes/joints properly
which caused about 35 pushfit joints to leak .there was a clear sign of flux inside/outside the fittings.
also if flux is applied above pushfit it will run down towards the fitting.
so if possible use compression fittings next to pushfit.
