we are having a replcement solid fuel +back boiler fitted and have been told by the plumber that they just fit the back boiler,and i'll have to sort the rest out ie building around the back boiler or get a builder in 'is this a hard job and what will it entail? thanks

Get an installer who will do a complete job!!
Preferably HETAS registered!
Many "builders" will be totally unaware of the requirements!!
It would normally be a 11/2 to 2 day job for removal,fitting ,bricking up,filling with vermic concrete plastering and fitting any surround!!
