Hi There

I am doing up our bathroom and fitted a 34 mm waste pipe to the sink today with solvent weld and with 2 elbows fittings.

I made a mistake on the lowest joint under the sink in that the fitting was too tight when inserted into the elbow. Used plenty of solvent weld cement. Missed the stop point by about 3 mm.

Is this a major issue that could cause leaks?

I've since worked out that I need to leave the solvent weld cement on the pipe for a bit before I put it into an elbow. Lesson learned.
Don't really fancy redoing the whole thing but obviously if it's an issue I may need to consider it.

Any thoughts?

If the pipe is only 3mm short of full insertion it will be fine.
You should apply sv cement to inside fitting as well as outside of the pipe by the way.

Yes only 3 mm. I put some marker points for reference. Thanks for the tip btw (y)
