I see dead people..
Although i found an interesting snippet in the article where it claims African people are more likely to see circles than w.e.i.r.d folk. I think people tend to think in circles if they've a literary bent, or squares if they think in numbers.

If I look at it for a while it gets some depth, like down a passage
The clue to solving it is that it isn't one or the other.
