Word up chaps! (ahem)

ok, bit of a tricky one here but im after a 250w Son lamp that shines white rather than yellow...

the starter/ignition is in the lowbay so whichever -E or -I is the correct format (can never remember!)

is there such a lamp or is it a case of changing/converting the gear tray?

been having a search about and was looking at the MBI/ type..yay or nay?

cheers!

you want a mercury one then, SON's are all slightly yellow..

they should work with the same gear..

nope, my bad, it's the metal halide that are straight swaps for SON's..

they are whiter than SON's though.....

cheers cj!

do they do a metal 250w halide without the starter? can only find 'HQI' type which have the starter built in.

Yes you can get 250w metal halide lamps that are for use with starter built into the fitting/control gear.

Generally the E in a triangle found on the lamp means external ignitionj required. An 'I' means the lamp has built in ignition.

Another thing to check is that the low bay you are putting the halide lamp into has the glass front/diffuser fitted.
