Hi,

I am rennovating a lounge in a Victorian conversion. The room below is my neighbours bedroom.

My question revolves around sound insulation - I don't want him on my doorstep moaning everytime I put a film on.

I've looked into acoustic mineral wool, quiet floor, Tec50 etc and from the research I've done I don't get the feeling that the results are amazing.

First prize will be fixing the floorboards down properly - loads were left loose when the central heating was put in, in the 90's (previous owner) - and there are some gaps here and there. I suspect that will knock out a lot of noise, both airborne and footfall.

So, does anyone know if something like quietfloor will do wonders? It'll be around £400 to do the room so I need to be confident that it will make a significant improvement.
