Hi if you had to fix a wireless sounder on a ground floor flat, would it be fitted on that flats wall or would you fit it higher up on the upstairs flats wall ?
Thanks

You can only fit bell box on your own property.
If you live on ground floor then can not be fitted higher unless you can get written permission of the owner or landlord of the wall you want to fit bell box too

Thanks for setting me straight 2.4m high will have to do then

When fitting at low height, you can fit a sounder that has added protection against attack. Most sounder ranges include these variants. They have additional metal plate/s internally, making it harder to open or damage.

Thanks for the replies, unfortunately nothing else will do, my daughter has just been offered a ground floor flat in a new council estate, so is unable to touch the interior for 18 months and will need some sort of system so I thought wireless

Has she spoken with the council / housing association about installing an alarm system ?. They may be prepared to allow the installation of a wired alarm system.

Rob, you needn't be concerned about the hypothetical Raffles casing the joint and bringing his high-tech equipment.

A wireless sounder can be defeated without having to touch the sounder. Too many criminals know how to do it.

Your typical teen crackhead is too dopey to upgrade from a brick to a rusty screwdriver.

If he had a few pounds to spare they would go up his nose.

Bernard lives in a fantasy world of expert cracksmen and honourable jewel thieves.

Is your daughter well known for her collection of oriental gold and uncut diamonds?

I totally agree that the criminals that John describes as ""typical teen crackhead"" when acting alone probably would not have the knowledge or equipment needed to defeat a wireless alarm.

In some areas the ""typical teen crackheads"" are being recruited by organised crime bosses to burgle buildings in return for a percentage of the take. The organised criminals do have the knowledge and equipment to train and equip others to do the break ins.

Thanks everyone she has always lived in flats 1 or more up and this is the first time in a ground floor flat, so as a new estate I had a look around and out of about 30 houses only one had an external sounder on show, now as money will be tight I will be trying to talk her into just the external sounder, panel and the rear protected then add on the front of the house later on, as that is in a large open area with all the other houses looking onto it so hopefully better than nothing and anyone looking to break in move to another property
