Going to look at a job tomo where the bottom 3 or 4 courses of bricks have spalled.
Been to house before and from the ground the first 3 or 4 bricks are painted then the rest of the bungalow is rendered with a bellcast.
It is concrete slab or flags all around the perimeter. I think the spalling is caused by ingress of water from the face and not rising damp.
What would be the best solution for this? Could I remove paint and render this section and leave a small gap under the bell cast and just above the ground? Or do I need to replace the damaged bricks and then paint?
