Hi All

Hope this is posted in the right section.

I have an interior wall that has spalled bricks ( Ithink spalled is the right term, the're very dry and crumbling).

The wall itself forms part of the support for my staircase, and the affected bricks are the bottom 7 rows (not every brick). Access to the understairs is external. I cannot access the other side of the wall to see how bad the spalling is on the reverse! The area I can access is dry with no signs of damp.

My intention was to render or dot'n'dab these wall to create a tidy functional space, but I now have concerns as to the integrity of the walls for the future.

Can these bricks be treated or will I have to replace them.

Thanks for reading and for any help and advice.
