Hi
I have a double light switch wired as per picture.
I would like to split and have two single switches, on either side of wall, can someone please talk me through it?

Thanks

Is the new switch position to be directly behind the one in your pic ? Is the wall solid brick ?

OK, so how do I split the wiring to supply two single switches? They would be on opposite sides of a stud wall

Depends on what switch you want to keep where it is. That will tell us what wires need to be connected ,a new twin and earth cable Will need to be ran between the two locations, which seem to be " back to back" ??

I would want to keep RH switch (in photo) in place as single switch and run new single dimmer switch on other side of wall

New length of twin and earth cable to be used ,will have brown ,and blue insulated conductors, and bare copper earth conductor.
The red wire connects to com terminal on right hand switch, the short red bridging wire is removed completely it's no longer required. The brown wire of new cable also connects to the same com terminal on right switch.
The blue wire from new cable should be fitted with a brown sleeve and connected together with the yellow wire into an insulated terminal block ( or wago).
The existing blue wire connects to L1 on right hand switch.
The earth conductor of the new cable is sleeved yellow and green ,and is connected to the other earth conductors.
At the new switch position the blue wire should also have a short brown sleeve ,and the earth conductor sleeved yellow and green.

Thanks Terry, will give that a try tomorrow, just to be sure, i want to dispose of the double switch and replace with a single, doesthis still apply? cheers
