spotlight removal

I need to take some spotlights down in the kitchen but I cant get to the top to press the springy leg things inwards to push down into the kitchen because we have a flat roof over the top.

Any idea's how to take them down without making a mess of the ceiling.

Any help appreciated, thanks in advance.
