I need to lay a concrete floor over an existing concrete floor to create a fall . 4 inches at the back wall falling to 2 inches at the front. Sand and 10mm aggregate as i want a smooth finish. Is 6 to 1 mix ok and will i add waterproofer to the mix? Also is a semi dry mix going to give me a better finish? Thanks Phil.

Then it should not be smooth. It needs to be rough so they can get up without the shoes slipping. A tamped finish will do. If you hold one end of the board in the doorway the grooves will help fluids to drain away and make it easier to sweep out.

A little extra cement in the mix will help it resist chemical attack from the urine. Coarse aggregate will keep the texture when the surface wears away.
