Hi,

Im after a little advice. The wife has decided that im going to fit a carpet runner on the stairs! She wants one with stair rods too (of course) Bearing in mind I took the carpet up and painted the stairs only about a year ago, not she wants one back. God help me.

The stairs go round a corner so about 4 steps are not straight, what is the best approach to fitting the carpet to these?
Is it to cut individual pieces for these steps?

Thanks Paul

The best thing to do would be to get a pro in to do it, about £100 plus the materials. The stairs need fitting on gripper and underlay as the rods are purely decorative, each of the 4 steps needs cutting indivudually and shaping correctly, and the stair edges need binding also. Personally, for the cost of a pro to do it properly, it's not worth the aggro of fitting the most difficult area of the house in this manner.
