Hi All,

We are redoing the step that exits the bedroom, and goes to a mini landing at the top of the stairs. The step before was a bullnose, I understand this is so the carpet can be pulled round. Is this really necesaary? Could you just have a rounded edge and pull the carpet round that. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Its got us stumped!!
Thanks Christine :)

The bullnose is not there for the carpet alone . The bullnose is the run of the stairs , if your step leads onto a landing that is then followed by a staircase then removing it could cause a trip hazzard . Odd i know but if you have walked up 12 steps and expect the next one to be there you could end up head butting the bathroom sink
