Hi,

I am currently re-doing our bathroom & have a query regarding sticking plasterboard to a plastered wall to tile over.

I am using a cement board in the shower area that is to be fixed to the existing plastered wall using tile adhesive.
Adjacent to this (above the bath) I want to install green/blue plasterboard to line up with the edge of the cement board & then tile over the lot.

What can I use to stick the plasterboard to the wall that will be the same thickness as the tile adhesive used for the cement board, to allow the two boards to line up on the wall & also stick the plasterboard strong enough to support the tiling?

you could give the plastered walls two separate coats of sbr,and allow to dry overnight
then use bonding compound (the white stuff) to stick new plasterboards
first check old plaster with a rule ,to see if it is flat or if needed plumb
apply bonding compound about 3mm all over with plasterers trowel
then use notched a trowel to raise -lower bonding compound then dab on boards
use extra or less if walls are out,no less than 2mm
