Stone cutting disk v tarmac

I want to sink a post into my drive, which is tarmac. Can i use a 9" angle grinder with a stone cutting disk to go through the tarmac?

And what can i expect to find under the tarmac?

hi there,

i have just had my elec meter moved and had to dig up some tarmac. i cut the tarmac with exactly what you are talking about. under it was just compacted hardcore.

one thing to remember is the safety equipment to protect yourself.

Does anyone know how good Wickes patching tarmac is? I want to finish off round the post with that instead of with concrete.
