Am about to fit a stone shower tray, i know it needs ot be put on a weak mortar, the trouble i have is that the base is chipboard flooring, i don't want to rip it up and put down exterior ply or marine ply so could i put down a thick plastic membrane for the mortar to sit on?
The hole where the waste goes it a lot bigger than needed so the mortar would not even touch the flooring in this position.
