Afternoon all,
I need to repair a stone window sill that has crumbled in places and is causing some damp. My thought was to suspend some ply underneath as a former to build it back to a square edge, and to run a bead of sealant along the front edge to create a drip groove. Would a 1:5 mortar mix be the right material to use? And would it adhere ok, or would i need to chisel or drill some kind of key?
Thanks in advance

You might want to try using "toupret murex", it's designed for this kind of thing. You'll need to work it while it's drying though, if you wait the 24hrs drying time it sets like solid rock.

Cheers Taybar, I shall google it this evening and let you know how i get on.

Many thanks
