Can a storage heater be fitted under a worktop? Will the heat warp the worktop? Maybe a metal guard over the heater grill but the whole volume of air under worktop will be warm. Somebody else on the site has posted about heater under worktop and asking about adding a grill in worktop to allow hot air to pass through so presumably they found it ok?
