We have a main bathroom which our little girl uses about once a week. We have a normal basic bath with a shower overhead (normal shower valve running off combo system).

Just now a humming vibration sound was coming from the taps it turns out. I thought it was the fan overhead, but when i turned that off the humming continued.

I then opened the cold tap and the noise stopped.

Any idea what this is ? I have never had this before. I wonder if it is to do with air escaping from the tap area ?

Thought appreciated. The noise came back 3 minutes later, but then went away again. Nothing happened since.

Bit of water hammer if the hot tap had been run it's prob the cwsc in the loft filling and the washer or diaphragm vibrating with a bit of muck under it.Bob

We don't have a filler tank as on a combi boiler system.

Still maybe a bit of much under the washer then ?
