strange icon

on the bar at the bottom of my pc screen, i have an icon for my LAN connection that is two pc monitors that flash randomly blue and black to represent the transfer of data.
However, i have a new icon apearing next to it which is very similar, two monitors, but they flash red or yellow, and if you hover over the icon it says.. 'M-Dvr Event Server'. If you right-click you get a menu:
View Log/View DB/DVR view/Time set/config/exit

No idea what this is, can anyone shed any light?

Just a wild guess but MDVR rings a bell associated with police surveillance cameras - are you a traffic cop? :D

Do you have a digital video recorder software on your system?
 
superb advice... i have had cctv fitted and some software for the video... thanks for the spot !
