I need to replace the strike plate on my bathroom door as the latch doesn't fit well and the door rattles a lot when it's windy and the windows are open. Oddly there's no tab on the plate to adjust how well the latch fits and for some reason it's a double plate even though there's only one latch.

The plate is 123mm and the screws are 106mm apart but despite searching online I'm unable to find a suitable replacement. Can anyone help?

You should get the nearest size replacement that will accommodate the latch.

Blup

Just move it back a few mm to tighten latch, tap a sliver of timber in the old screw holes to allow new screw positions, it has two slots because it’s reversible and intended for a locking latch.
