Seen quite a few gates on the tinterweb of different frame joints and after some guidance and experience from those who have already make their own.
I can buy a gate from screwfix or a few on the net but primarily (unless convinced otherwise) I've decided to make my own. More because the gap from the concrete post to the house is 1050mm (typical bought gates are 915mm (3ft) or less at 900).
I understand I'll need to make and screw a stop to the side of the house but it's abit extreme making it up with that!
Few YouTube videos later have given me the idea the half overlapped joint (all corners are cut to around half the thickness and interlocked with the other half thickness frame) will be the strongest but I'm also interested in using a pocket hole method.
I'll be making a frame/bracing it corner to corner and putting Tounge and grooved cladding on the front.
Sound right or way off?
Cheers
