Flat owners stuck in dangerous blocks of flats with Grenfell type cladding in Manchester look set to be saddled with the high costs of making there homes safe.

Multinational development giant Lendlease indicated last week that it was not prepared

"To do the decent thing" as urged by Government ministers and pick up the 3 million plus bill .

Resident owners are at lendleases mercy after a property tribunal , like others arouind the country ruled that under the terms of the leases they are financially liable for both remedial work
& hiring of fire safety marshalls. They will also have to pay the legal bill for the tribunal .

Lendlease is a multi billion pound Australian company.

Up here, OK Different sets of rules, there is a waterside development in Glasgow. less than about 7 years old with "at risk" cladding fitted

Following some media pressure the developers have agreed to remove and replace at the Developers cost.

Thankfully no lendlease up here.

Smaks of an Of-shore organisation totally out of tune with local requirements

Shades of Homebase where the all powerful board "back home" have no real grip on a local situation and more especially local proceedures, habits and most of all the needs of the tenants.
