Suitable Grease?

My son has a monoblock tap in his kitchen that it supposed to swing over the 1 and 1/2 bowl sink he has. Unfortuantley it stiffens up. Is there a suitable grease he can use or has he bought a cheap tap?

He can remove the spout and grease the ``o`` rings.

Petroleum jelly or` Vaseline`
