I have to make a matching fill-in fence panel about 28in wide x 6ft using standard overlap materials from local supplier - but they will not provide nails.

So within the capped frame there will be 23 slats pinned to one central backing strut. What sort & what size of nails should I get to do this job? i.e so that it doesn't all fall apart as soon as I clip it to 3" wooden posts and go in for a cup of tea. I'll be using a hammer, not a nailgun.

Also how do I ensure a neat finish on the reverse side?

Tips appreciated. Thanks.

use annular nails, just shorter than the overall thickness ofthe sandwhich of wood.

I thought I'd posted my 'thank you', Thermo, but obviously not. Anyway, job done & thank you.
