Is it easy to swap this for a key lock on the outside with a thumb turn on the inside?

It appears to be a bathroom. Why do you need a key lock?

What are the dimensions of the lock case, and the backset?

Does the lock have a silver-painted case?

In emergencies you might need to get into the bathroom. That's why you have the safety knob on the outside. As John asks, why do you want a keyed lock?
