what is the procedure when taping i have bought a roll of mesh stuff .Does this go on first then the flat tape? also what compo chould i be using to stick it to the plasterboard joints? cheers.
You can use the self adhesive "mesh" fibre tape, or the "flat tape" (paper tape) when taping, but you would not normally use both. It's one or the other........ When taping by hand, I normally use Gyproc Joint filler to put tapes on with, and then go over them with a couple of coats of Ready Mix Joint Finish from a bucket, allowing each coat to dry first, and when the overall job is finished and dried out, sand it down and it's ready for painting etc.
