taps under bath will not tighten -still leaking.

I recently disconnected the bath tap mixer ( two taps ,one spout) to fit a new mixer - which wasnt suitable as it happens- so I reconnected the old one. However no matter how much I tighten up the nuts they are still leaking from under the nut. I used a tap spanner in a very confined space. It is driving me mad as the leak has caused part of the celing to come down! Any ideas PLEASE! - Trevor

Was there a fibre washer on the tap, try new ones, did you wrap ptfe tape round the thread?

Fit one of these. Ask for a 3/4 one for bath taps.

My bet would be you didn't use the washer, or it fell out when you tried to connect it. No need to wrap PTFE on the thread!

If you are changing taps always change the washer
