If you only limit discussion to what is in a single thread, it would be even more pointless than it is already.
My point stands.

Nobody IN THIS THREAD
Yep the one thing right wingers all forget.
The amount of money the wealthy store in accumulating assets and not spent in the day to day economy.
I never suggested anything of the sort.So you’d rather he left the uk, stopped spending money here and paying taxes here too
You’re mad
I never suggested anything of the sort.
He could stay in UK, just spread his wealth about more.
His spending might be the same as 3 or 4 average people. But as Notch abley points out, his wealth is tied up in assets, 7 cars for a start. He doesn't buy 7 cars every year. He may never buy another car in his life. He certainly doesn't use as much fuel, tyres etc as a few ordinary people.
How much of his wealth has been earned, and how much of it was inherited?
Good for him.Zero inherited
Rescued a company from closure and built it into a great success through a huge amount of hard graft over 20 years. Obviously employing lots of people and paying huge amounts of business and income tax and NI over those years.
You have succumbed to the rabid left politics of envy.
Good for him.
There's probably many exceptions, but they don't prove the rule.
The general situation is the norm.
It's been explained several times by several posters: the mega rich, many are non-doms, many are tax avoiders, many have their wealth off-shore.What do you perceive to be “The general situation is the norm”
The Sunday Times Rich List 2025 revealed

But by definition it becomes off-topic.If you only limit discussion to what is in a single thread, it would be even more pointless than it is already.

It’s not about distribution of wealth, it’s about helping them develop the skills to earn more.I read this figure.
Meanwhile, the average salary for the UK’s top one per cent of earners stands at £186,120 per year.
That doesn't sound a lot, I thought the top 1% were mostly millionaires and billionaires, so the percentage figures for the contribution to tax revenues by the very rich could be less.
Anyway, maybe if the wealth generated by everybody in the economy was more fairly distributed, then those at the bottom would earn more and therefore pay more tax,and if those very rich had less wealth to start with due to a fairer redistribution policy, they pay less in tax, that should help close the tax gap.

. Clearly not true when they pay most of the tax.not true though
ordinary people spend more and drive the economy
the wealthy hoard money and grow assets keeping money out of the economy
It is totally counterproductive to make ordinary working people poorer

Hard work is not just long hours, a rough hands. So poor people are lazy and wealthy people are hard working.
I sometimes do work for a property investor, when I’ve been round his main house doing stuff, he sits in his orangery in his dressing gown having breakfast till around 10ish. I’ve also worked in one of his rented properties, where the tenant leaves home at 7.30am and doesn’t get home till 6.30pm
Your assertion is just an old trope
It's been explained several times by several posters: the mega rich, many are non-doms, many are tax avoiders, many have their wealth off-shore.
Here's a start:
Does your BiL feature in those 25, or anywhere near it?
I didn't. You asked me for a list, and I provided one.And don’t tarnish the hard working self starting , business and wealth generating Brits with non doms
it's your perception that all the descriptions applied to all the categories. In my mind, it clearly was a list of several groups. There are probably more. It's been explained several times by several posters: the mega rich, many are non-doms, many are tax avoiders, many have their wealth off-shore.
