telephone extension

Hi,

I'm fitting a telephone extension using the NTE5(?) box.

I've got the little plastic device that's meant to push the wires into the metal clips but the wires don't get broke (ie, not bare wire becomes exposed).

Does anyone know anyway round this?

The tool does not bare the wire.

. What happens is the krone block you push the wire into, cuts the insulation on the wire so it makes a connection.

The tool is just for pushing in the wire.

On a more expensive tool, the tool pushes and cuts off the excess wire all in one go.

I've often found these plastic tools don't do the job, invest in a proper Krone type tool, they are not that expensive.
